About This Site

Finding someone in custody in McDonough County depends on one thing: knowing which system holds them. The county sheriff runs the local jail, the state runs its own prison locator, and federal agencies keep separate records. We built this private reference site to pull those rosters, locators, and contacts together so you do not have to hunt across a dozen pages to start a search.

What This Site Does

Illinois treats most jail and inmate information as public, but the records are scattered, and McDonough County does not post an online jail roster. The real work is figuring out who holds the person you are looking for. The county sheriff runs the jail in Macomb for people held before trial and those serving short sentences. The Illinois Department of Corrections runs a separate locator for sentenced state prisoners. Federal and immigration detainees show up in still other systems. We gather the rosters, locators, phone numbers, visitation rules, and request steps for each of those into one place so the search has a clear starting point.

What You Will Find Here

The pages here are organized around the questions people actually ask.

  • Inmate lookup help across jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
  • A detailed page for the McDonough County Jail, with its address, phone, capacity, and visitation schedule.
  • Plain steps for the county jail channels and the statewide IDOC inmate locator.
  • How to request a booking record or photo, and what kind of response time to expect.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. It has no tie to the McDonough County Sheriff's Office, the jail, the Illinois Department of Corrections, any court, or any other government agency. Being clear about that matters, because there are real limits to what a site like this can do.

  • We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
  • We cannot post bond, set up a visit, or send money for you.
  • We cannot give legal advice of any kind.
  • We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address stays current.

Only the sheriff's office or the corrections department can confirm a person's current custody, charges, or release. This site can point you to the right roster, but the official answer comes from them.

Search Partners

Some pages include search boxes powered by outside providers that set their own prices and return their own results. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, the site may earn a referral fee, which is what keeps it free to use. We do not control the pricing or the results those partners show, and using them is always optional.
